On Nov 7^th and 9^th, 2021, an online workshop on CV crafting and career planning was held successfully by the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Experts who have rich experience in human resource management were invited to introduce how to make a CV and to plan the career for international students of science and engineering majors.

The workshop was divided into two parts, including CV crafting and career planning. The first part was carried out by Ms. Bonnie LIU, senior manager at an education startup and former director of Career Services at Duke Kunshan University and University of Rochester. She delivered a speech titled Job Search 101: Resume and CV, which introduced in detail the difference between resume and CV, the importance of CV, the key elements and format requirements for a good CV, and how to prepare a proper CV by yourself.

The second part Job Search in China was brought up by Ms. Min LI, assistant director of the Employer Relationship and Brand Development, KPDC, Purdue University. She presented the definition and three steps of “Job Search”, emphasized the importance of starting job search as soon as possible, and shared job search resources with the students.

More than 50 students attended the workshop and participated actively in the discussion. The SCCE Employment Guidance and Consultation Office for International Students will keep providing one-to-one CV revising and career planning guidance for students.
