On Nov. 16, 2021, Clarivate unveiled its 2021 list of "Highly Cited Researchers". 6602 researchers from more than 70 countries and regions have been recognized. Prof. Chunhai FAN, academician of Chinese Academy of Science, and Prof. Xuzhou YAN were selected in the category of Chemistry, Prof. Feng LIU in the category of Materials Science, Prof. Xiaodong ZHUANG in category of Cross-Field.

The list of "Highly Cited Researchers" is based on the number of highly cited papers published between January 2010 and December 2020. More than 6,600 scientists were selected from 21 science, social science and interdisciplinary fields. The selection was conducted by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI)™ at Clarivate. The data analysis tool applied is specially designed according to the number of publications and research index and trends based on Web of Science™ citation data, by using InCites™ and ESI™. Web of Science™ is powered by the world's largest and most trusted publisher-neutral citation index and research intelligence platform.
